Glynux Mv 2.3 Tablet is primarily indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, characterised by elevated blood glucose levels. The medication is categorised under antidiabetic medications.
Glynux Mv 2.3 Tablet is prescribed for:
• Controlling blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus
• Assisting in maintaining healthy blood glucose levels when diet and exercise alone are insufficient
• Improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues
• Reducing hepatic glucose production
• Preventing rapid postprandial glucose absorption by slowing carbohydrate breakdown
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
• Administer the medicine at the same time daily to maintain consistent blood glucose control.
• Follow your doctor's prescription, and do not alter the dose without consulting your doctor.
Glynux Mv 2.3 Tablet is taken orally.
Glynux Mv 2.3 Tablet may induce the following side effects:
• Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)
• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Abdominal pain
• Flatulence
Glynux Mv 2.3 Tablet contains a combination of three active agents:
• Voglibose (0.3 mg): This alpha-glucosidase inhibitor prevents complex carbohydrates from converting into simple sugars in the small intestine, thus mitigating postprandial glucose elevations.
• Glimepiride (2 mg): As a sulfonylurea, it stimulates the pancreas to increase insulin secretion, effectively lowering blood sugar levels and enhancing insulin sensitivity in tissues.
• Metformin (500 mg): A biguanide that suppresses hepatic glucose production, augments peripheral insulin sensitivity, and enhances glucose uptake and utilisation by peripheral tissues.
It is contraindicated in pregnancy.
It is not recommended in breastfeeding women.
Not recommended as alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycaemia and lactic acidosis.
Exercise caution when taking Glynux MV 2.3 Tablet if you have mild to moderate liver impairment. It is not recommended for patients with severe liver disease.
This medication is contraindicated in individuals with severe kidney impairment or renal failure.
Due to the risk of hypoglycaemia, which may lead to confusion or tremors, caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.
Avoid using Glynux MV 2.3 Tablet if you have known allergies to glimepiride, metformin, voglibose, or any other ingredients in the formulation.
It is not recommended in children.
Elderly patients should take this medication under medical supervision due to increased susceptibility to side effects and potential liver and kidney issues.
Drug-Drug Interactions
• Anti-diabetics: The concomitant use with other anti-diabetics like insulin may increase the risk of hypoglycaemia.
• Thiazide Diuretics: These may reduce the blood sugar-lowering effect of glimepiride in Glynux Mv 2.3 Tablet.
• Hormonal Medications: Corticosteroids, thyroid hormones, oestrogens, and oral contraceptives can affect glucose-lowering efficacy.
Drug-Food Interactions
• High-Carb Meals: Consuming high-carbohydrate meals can lead to postprandial blood sugar spikes, counteracting voglibose's effects.
Drug-Disease Interactions
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis: This medicine is advised against use in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis due to potential exacerbation.
Daily Dose
• Take Glynux Mv 2.3 Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. The dose is determined by your condition and response to the medicine.
Missed Dose
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is near the time for the next dose.
• Do not double the dose to compensate for a missed one.
Overdose
• Overdose symptoms may include hypoglycaemia, tremors, dizziness, headache, and palpitations.
• Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
