Prolonox AM 50 Tablet is composed of two active ingredients:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): A calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium ions from entering the heart muscle and blood vessels, leading to relaxation and widening of blood vessels.

• Metoprolol Succinate (50 mg): A beta-1 selective adrenoceptor blocking agent that relaxes blood vessels, slows the heart rate, and reduces the force of heart contractions, decreasing blood pressure and cardiovascular risk.

Drug-Drug Interactions

• CYP3A4 Inhibitors: May increase levels of amlodipine and metoprolol succinate, enhancing their effects and potential side effects.

• CYP3A4 Inducers: May reduce the effectiveness of amlodipine and metoprolol succinate.

• Insulin or Oral Hypoglycemic Agents: Can mask the blood sugar-lowering effect; monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Drug-Food Interactions

• Grapefruit Juice: Can increase amlodipine levels and enhance effects and side effects.

Drug-Disease Interactions

• Heart Failure: Use with caution as it may worsen the condition.

• Peripheral Vascular Disease: May exacerbate symptoms of arterial insufficiency.

Daily Dosage

• Prolonox AM 50 Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.

Missed Dose

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Overdose

• Common signs of overdose include headache, dizziness, and fatigue.

• Keep in a tightly closed container to protect from light and moisture.

• Use before the expiry date for maximum effectiveness.
