Renolsar 40 Tablet contains olmesartan medoxomil (40 mg), which functions through the following mechanisms:

• Blocks Angiotensin II Receptors: Olmesartan medoxomil inhibits specific receptors in your body known as angiotensin II receptors. These receptors are generally activated by the hormone angiotensin II, which constricts blood vessels and increases blood pressure.

• Vasodilation: By inhibiting these receptors, olmesartan medoxomil counters the action of angiotensin II, resulting in the dilation or expansion of blood vessels, facilitating smoother blood flow.

• Reduction of Aldosterone Secretion: Aldosterone is a hormone that causes water retention in the body, leading to increased blood volume and pressure. Olmesartan medoxomil reduces aldosterone secretion, thereby decreasing fluid volume and lowering blood pressure.

Drug-Drug Interactions

• Potassium Supplements and Certain Diuretics: These medicines may interact with Renolsar 40 Tablet, increasing the risk of high potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalaemia).

• Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs): When taken with Renolsar 40 Tablet, NSAIDs can reduce the blood pressure-lowering effects of the medicine.

• Renin-Angiotensin System Blockers: Medicines in this category, when used in conjunction with Renolsar 40 Tablet, can increase the risks of low blood pressure (hypotension), fainting (syncope), high potassium levels (hyperkalaemia), and alterations in kidney function.

Daily Dosage
