Omezoren 20 Capsule contains omeprazole (20 mg), which functions as follows:
• Proton Pump Inhibition: Omeprazole blocks specific enzymes, known as proton pumps, situated in the gastric parietal cells. These enzymes are responsible for the final step in gastric acid secretion.
• Reduction in Gastric Acidity: By binding to proton pumps, omeprazole effectively inhibits the secretion of hydrochloric acid into the gastric lumen. This action reduces stomach acidity, alleviating symptoms associated with acid-related conditions.
This medicine should be only used if clearly needed.
Nursing mothers should discontinue breastfeeding if taking this medicine.
Alcohol can trigger heartburn and increase acidity, which may exacerbate GERD.
Dose reduction is advised in case of liver impairment particularly for maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis.
Dosage adjustment not required.
This capsule has little impact on your ability to operate machinery or drive.
Do not take the medicine if you have an allergy to omeprazole or any other proton pump inhibitors.
Safety and efficacy have not been established below 1 year of age.
Older individuals may require close monitoring due to increased sensitivity to side effects.
